Newsroom note, 19 July 2026: EmberGF is opening a change desk for AI-companion products. It is a permanent reporting practice, not a claim that a particular operator launched something today. The desk will document material changes to plans, consent language, memory claims, account controls, export, deletion, safety tools and commercial relationships.
Why a change desk is useful
AI-companion reviews age quickly. A new pricing screen can change the real cost; a revised privacy notice can change the categories of data described; an account-control update can make cancellation easier or harder. Quietly rewriting an old verdict erases the trail readers need. A dated note makes the before-and-after visible.
Not every interface adjustment deserves a headline. Moving a button three pixels is a release note, not a constitutional crisis. The desk will focus on changes that could alter a reader’s decision or require a previous article to be corrected.
Each note will preserve its check date and link the primary source whenever one is publicly available.
The three-column evidence board
Each update will separate three kinds of information:
- Confirmed: text visible in a current primary source, a reproducible account control or a dated operator notice.
- Claimed: a statement made by the operator that EmberGF has not independently reproduced.
- Still testing: a question that needs a controlled account check, support response or longer observation.
This prevents marketing language from becoming an editorial conclusion by copy and paste. It also lets us say “we do not know yet” without burying that uncertainty at the bottom.
What will trigger an update
- A change to subscription renewal, credits, refunds or cancellation.
- A material privacy-policy or terms revision.
- A new consent, moderation, blocking, export or deletion control.
- A changed claim about memory, voice, images, calls or generated media.
- A referral route becoming invalid, inactive or newly approved for a locale.
- Reliable evidence that a published EmberGF statement is no longer accurate.
How readers can use the desk
Check the source date in a review before relying on a plan or policy statement. At checkout, compare the live charge and renewal terms with the article. If they differ, trust the live screen and send the desk the public URL and date—never a password, full payment record or private chat.
Commercial boundary
News updates will not acquire a referral button merely because a product is mentioned. A commercial link appears only when it is relevant, explicitly approved for the page locale and routed through a validated first-party path. If a destination becomes invalid, it fails closed. Editorial corrections do not wait for an affiliate relationship.
What success looks like
A reader should be able to see what changed, when we checked it, which source supports it and what remains uncertain. That is less dramatic than a constantly refreshed “top ten,” but considerably more useful.
